As the School-to-Prison-Pipeline continues to grow under the current administration, so too, does the national security systems that has been normalized over the last 17 years, into many parts of our everyday lives. Amongst the most significant and, least acknowledged ways is how national security systems have entered our schools. In this workshop we will learn what do we mean by the national security system, how criminalizing programs like gang-injunctions, CVE (Countering-Violent Extremism), use of informants, databases, militarization of school safety, impact students of color and what are efforts on the ground to counter them.
