Election 2020: How to Vote State Primers

September 21, 2020

In the United States, election administration is a function of the state. As a result, 50 states and numerous territories run elections separately with varying voter registration deadlines, rules around vote-by-mail (absentee voting), and regulations around early voting.

In addition to our national voting rights work, Advancement Project National Office is also supporting voter protection efforts in six key states: Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Virginia. As a part of our efforts to ensure voters, especially voters of color, have the tools they need to vote safely this year, we’ve developed state primers that provide critical information on how to vote.

Each state primer provides key information on voting rules, deadlines, and identification requirements to help voters make a plan to vote.  Share these documents with your networks and develop your voting plan today!
