Advancement Project’s National Office Successfully Assists with Election Day Filing of Georgia Litigation to Extend Polling Hours

ATLANTA – Today, Advancement Project’s national office assisted in the filing of litigation in district court to extend the hours of several polling locations in Fulton County, Georgia. The court order comes on the heels of reports of voting irregularities at the following precinct locations: Forbes Arena, Pittman Park and Booker T. Washington High School.

“It is our mission to advocate for free, fair and accessible elections and our litigators were on the ground to make a difference for voters in Georgia. We are glad that voters will have additional time to cast a ballot for their candidate of choice in the 2018 midterm elections,” said Judith Browne Dianis, Advancement Project’s national office. “Voters who were unable to vote earlier due to technical difficulties and long lines will have additional time to cast a ballot.”

The following extensions have been granted.

·         Archer Hall (on the campus of Morehouse College) – 10:00 p.m.
·         Booker T. Washington High School – 10:00 p.m.
·         Pittman Park – 9:00 p.m.
