Afrah Ali is a fundraising professional and artivist with a decade of nonprofit organizational experience. Specializing in major gifts and collaborative fundraising, she has personally secured and supported solicitations ranging from $5K to $10M. Afrah has previously held development officer and associate positions at National Public Radio and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. In addition to fundraising for large nonprofits, she has lent her funding, public speaking and singing skills to local, regional and national causes fighting for housing, environmental and employment justice. She enjoys combining her passion for the performing arts with her work in the world of philanthropy. She currently serves on the DC Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ African American Affinity Group as a member of the steering committee and as a moderator for their annual black history trailblazers panel event. Afrah is a native of Brooklyn, NY and a long-time resident of Washington, DC.
