Lidwina BellOrganizing Fellow
Lidwina Bell is Organizing Fellow for our Police Free Schools campaign. Lidwina brings her experience as an organizer against interpersonal and police gender-based violence against Black women and other marginalized genders through her political education work with BYP100’s She Safe, We Safe campaign. During her time interning with organizations such as Critical Resistance and the Institute for Policy Studies, Lidwina has sharpened her facilitation, research and organizing skills around issues of decarceration and dismantling the school-to prison pipeline. Lidwina is also a healing justice practitioner and an aspiring transformative justice practitioner. Lidwina is a graduate of Brown University where she studied Africana Studies and Public Policy. The main focus of her academic work and organizing has been around prison industrial complex abolition, transformative justice, womanism and Black queer feminism. She is a native of Washington, DC and is of Cameroonian heritage.
