Webinar & Action Kit: Combating ICE Enforcement in Public Schools

Advancement Project currently supports several grassroots organizations in implementing “welcoming” school district resolutions which limit the collaboration between school police and Immigrant Customs Enforcement (ICE). As a result of the harmful effects school police have on Black and Brown youth, Advancement Project also supports campaigns to get school police out of campus all together.

We, alongside Make the Road NY, Puente, DRUM (Desis Rising Up and Moving), and Padres y Jovenes Unidos held a webinar in November exploring what community organizations and advocates can do to protect students in this critical moment.

Play back the webinar video to:

  • Learn what local organizers and national leaders in education and immigrant justice are seeing in their communities related to ICE school district collaboration
  • Explore the school policies and practices that commonly harm and criminalize undocumented students and youth of color
  • Learn about different strategies that organizations have used to protect the rights of students and build power in their communities
  • Explore what your organization and community can due to limit collaboration between your school district and ICE

Download this mini-action kit and share with families of school-aged youth.
