Rights Restoration in Tennessee

State criminal disenfranchisement laws deprive approximately 6.1 million people in the U.S. of their right to vote. These laws have a disparate impact on communities of color. The vast majority of those disenfranchised—77 percent—are not incarcerated. They are living in the community on probation or parole or have completed their sentence.
