Letter Demanding an End to the State Takeover of Camden Public Schools
On October 5, 2026, Advancement Project and Camden Parent and Student Union, a local organizing group based in Camden, New Jersey, sent a joint letter to the New Jersey Governor, Commissioner of Education, and State School Board members, urging them to end the state takeover of Camden City School District and return the district to local control.
For over 13 years, Camden residents have been stripped of their right to govern their public schools and have a say in the education their children receive.
