Renewed Florida COVID-19 Lawsuit to Extend Vote-by-Mail through March 27

Advancement Project National Office has joined a coalition of Florida racial justice organizations in filing a renewed petition requiring Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee to extend the state’s vote-by-mail deadline to March 27. The coalition—which includes Demos, LatinoJustice PRLDEF, Dream Defenders, New Florida Majority, and Organize Florida—filed the petition in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida out of concern for residents’ safety amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
