Amicus Brief Filed in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute

Opponents of voting rights will do anything to keep voters out of the ballot. In Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute, advocates are challenging egregious laws in Ohio that kick citizens off of the voter rolls simply for not voting in two consecutive elections. At Advancement Project’s national office, we joined with the NAACP to file an amicus brief supporting the lawsuit and adding context. This effort to purge voters is not the first time that Ohioans, especially those in communities of color, face a challenge to their right to vote.
